Hi-
I'm have a machine with a parallel port zip drive and parallel printer. I compiled both drivers as modules, and assumed kerneld would load them on demand. That failed. Manually loaded them with rmmod/ismod works, but only in 2.0.33, not 2.0.34. Haven't tried 2.0.35, but I will if people think that would solve the problem. I wasn't actually the one doing most of the configuration, but .config (and a bunch of other stuff) follows... let me know if any more info is needed.
I got the following general protection fault using 2.0.34:
thor kernel: general protection: 0000 thor kernel: CPU: 0 thor kernel: EIP: 0010:[ipx+10587/12288] thor kernel: EFLAGS: 00010246 thor kernel: eax: f00000fd ebx: 00000000 ecx: 0482e054 edx: 00000000 thor kernel: esi: 00000000 edi: 0482e054 ebp: 00000005 esp: 02b59f4c thor kernel: ds: 0018 es: 0018 fs: 002b gs: 002b ss: 0018 thor kernel: Process lpd (pid: 588, process nr: 41,stackpage=02b59000) thor kernel: Stack: 00000000 02f31a18 02beb500 00124abe02beb500 02f31a18 02f31a18 00000000 thor kernel: 02b55000 00122d1f 02beb500 02f31a18 00000000 00000005 bffffca8 00000001 thor kernel: 02beb500 00122e37 02b55000 00000001 bffffca8 00000005 03d6bc0c 00000001 thor kernel: Call Trace: [chrdev_open+62/76] [do_open+199/292] [sys_open+63/120] [system_call+85/124] thor kernel: Code: 83 78 0c 00 7e 33 6a 03 68 00 01 00 00 e8 c3 10 8f fb 89 44
I saw it in the logs, along with a bunch similar to it (all caused by lpd after the line

Currently, I have two files, zip-setup and print-setup. When I do zip-setup, print-setup, in sequence, the following results
