Well i can't says so: Hard lock after probing the disk partitions (this is a DEC Multia with a kernel compiled for "Noname") on first try, needed to power cycle the system. Second try resulted in a "soft" lockup after probing the onboard sound hardware (correctly btw.), C_A_D worked...
Back to 2.1.115 for now...
