It is truth, but not all the truth.

All the truth is that their dhcp client really uses
both bpf (for BSD), and dlpi (for SunOS), so that claims
that it is disasterous are nothing but false tears. 8)8)

They will have to learn how to use packet socket finally
and will have to align their linux support with BSD's one.
Kernel will not make their work for them.

Actually, several versions of dhcp clients for 2.1
already exist, ISC could just accept them to their distribution.
