| |
The Intel etherexpress pro/100+ is based on the i82258 chip whereas the 2.1.x kernel driver is for the pro/100 using the i82257 chip.
Does anyone know whether the new chip is compatible with the old driver, or whether there is a new driver for the new chip?
Also, it appears that Compaq are selling cards with the same chip ('Netelligent 10/100TX PCI Intel UTP Controller'). Does anyone have any experience using these from a stability/performance point of view?
Thanks in advance,
-D
