I'll try that.

I don't know. Modules on Linux/Alpha have not been historically stable (!) so I have avoided them. I'll try that as well.

I apologize, and stand corrected. I was looking at source that was from the previous version. Ironically, that worked. Hence, the need for a more diagnostic approach. So, I will try alt-sysrq-p, and the modular build, and report back. Thanks for the help.
