I didn't even know that was there :) It looks like it's basically a stream
of info that the drive is sending itself (not some sort of kernel-level
interpretation of data or anything).

So I wenta looking for the info on the net. The closest I could find was
that the specs were published by the Small Form Factor Committee as
document SFF-8035.

I couldn't, however, locate that sucker anyplace. If you do, let me know,
I'll play with userspace utilities for it.
