(And I don't think it has to be a rpciod thread, it could just as well be a "per-mount-TCP-thread" - threads are certainly low-cost enough that it might make sense to have one per mount).
Please no. Using the existing framework, in terms of the rpciod thread, is the best choice if it can be done. If we make new threads to implement this, we open up a new can of worms. I consider this a 2.3.x thing to even think about.
