It gets past the hlt instruction - Now it freezes at PCI: Sorting device
list...

If I use no-hlt then the machine boots up to INIT. Then it freezes either
when checking the disk (e2fsck) or when loading KLOGD. Usually when
loading klogd.

I have attached the 2.1.109 complete boot log and also a written down
2.1.112 boot log with no-hlt running. It seems that when the machine locks
up at the e2fsck test I can still Shift-PageUp/Down but when it freezes at
the loading klogd the entire machine locks up. Also when booting without
no-hlt (and freezing at PCI: Sorting device list...) I cannot
Shift-PageUP/Down or anything - no hd lights no nothing..

I was actually going to start checking into the APIC code today (until MCI
"lost" BGP in the Central US this morning and my phone went nuts...)
because I noticed some interesting differences in my APIC table between
109 and 111/pre112. Specifically at NR=09 the pre112 reads:
09 0FF 0F 0 1 1 1 1 1 1 91
whereas in 109 this line reads:
09 0FF 0F 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 99

so it seems MASQ, IRR, STAT are different with the exact same boot
configuration.

Let me know any other tests you would like me to try. I think I will read
up about this APIC stuff and see if I can break something meaningfull 8-}

Thank you!!
