I don't think so. I boot with mem=64m in a 128mb machine,
precisely to grab the top 64 for the use of my driver.
My module remaps the top 64 and this worked until 105,
I think but I can't remember exactly when it broke.

This method of allocation is suggested in Rubini's book.
