Not for me. Under polling, many long waits during printing.
If I set an IRQ with tunelp, nothing comes out.

New info: under both 2.0.34 and 2.0.35, setting an IRQ just
slowed or totally hung printing.

rsimpson@ewrcsdra.demon.co.uk also reported similar problems with
an Epson 800 in comp.os.linux.misc. (He also has an HP Laserjet 4
which is fine under both 34 and 35.)

Still the only thing that works for me is 2.0.34 lp.c under polling.
(Haven't tried any earlier kernels.)

Printer: Epson 800.
