This is 2.1.110 on a system with a PnP (no, that's not the problem) SoundBlaster AWE 64 ISA card. When booting, the kernel says the following:
Jul 21 16:01:22 narayan kernel: Sound initialization started Jul 21 16:01:22 narayan kernel: <Sound Blaster 16 (4.16)> at 0x220 irq 5 dma 1,5 Jul 21 16:01:22 narayan kernel: Sound: Can't allocate driver for (Sound Blaster 16 (4.16)) Jul 21 16:01:22 narayan kernel: Sound Blaster: unable to install audio. Jul 21 16:01:22 narayan kernel: <Sound Blaster 16> at 0x330 irq 5 dma 0 Jul 21 16:01:22 narayan kernel: <Yamaha OPL3 FM> at 0x388 Jul 21 16:01:22 narayan kernel: Sound initialization complete
And later (after isapnp'ing) when loading the awewave module:
Jul 21 16:01:22 narayan kernel: AWE32: can't allocate sample tables
Of course, sound doesn't work, opening /dev/dsp returns ENODEV. This problem wasn't present in 2.1.108 (haven't tried 109 but will). Suggestions?
