SubjectParport fails to detect EPP capabilities
Hello there,

since two or three days, parport fails to detect the epp capabilities of
my onboard parallel port. This is since I accidentially switched the
BIOS settings to ECP+EPP (EPP v1.7). Even now, after correcting the BIOS
setting, the port is detected as SPP.

The Port can still be used in EPP mode, though, tested this under Win95
with a ZIP-Plus, and under Linux with a simple adaptor and a
self-written driver.

Chipset information from /proc/pci:

Bus 0, device 0, function 0:
Host bridge: Intel 82441FX Natoma (rev 2).
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. Master Capable.
Latency=32.
Bus 0, device 7, function 0:
ISA bridge: Intel 82371SB PIIX3 ISA (rev 1).
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. Master Capable. No
bursts.
Bus 0, device 7, function 1:
IDE interface: Intel 82371SB PIIX3 IDE (rev 0).
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. Master Capable.
Latency=32.
I/O at 0xf000 [0xf001].

Any Idea what I could try to tweak the detection routines?

Gruss,
Matthias
