SubjectSMP problems with 2.1.111-pre1
Hi, all. I've just tried out 2.1.111-pre1 on my dual PPro
machine. The first time I booted I got the following:

Freeing unused kernel memory: 64k freed
stuck on smp_invalidate_needed IPI wait (CPU#0)

The second time I booted, I got:

Freeing unused kernel memory: 64k freed
stuck on smp_invalidate_needed IPI wait (CPU#1)
stuck on smp_invalidate_needed IPI wait (CPU#1)

So something is amiss. Also, when I rebooted the machine hung with
some error message about SMP (sorry, I've forgotten the exact message,
and besides, I had just upgraded to util-linux-2.8, so I can't pin
down the cause just yet).

Regards,

Richard....
