SubjectChanging of HZ
DateFri, 5 Jun 1998 11:27:14 +0200
Hi all!

Possibly I'm not the first who asks this question; but I haven't found anything ... Sorry :-(

I would like to know what happens when I changed the HZ variable (e.g. for a Pentium from 100 to 1000). What does HZ?
Especially I'm interested on how this change would effect the time(s) (e.g. exactness, ...), system overhead (would be greater, I think) and the behalf of user processes (scheduling of them, etc.)

Could any Linux-Insider help me (or telling me, where I could get further information)?

Thanx for all

   marc
