Basically, we need to integrate a number of existing or already-prototyped features:
e2compress ACLs POSIX security capability masks Logical volume management
plus some new features under implementation/design right now:
reliable on-line dump journalling btree directories and extent maps Hierarchial Storage Management support
I'll announce a mailing list as soon as we start doing this for 2.3; right now, most of my own time is preparing 2.1 for codefreeze; there are a number of performance issues to deal with right now.
