Hey folks, I just installed 2.1.106 on a Tyan 1662D w/ 2 PPRO-180's, 128MB Ram, S3/968 video, NCR 538xx PCI SCSI, Intel EtherExpress 16 ISA Networking, and a standard Mad16 based ISA sound card.
While using X the machine _froze_ solid with no error output and no SYSLOG output. The machine wouldn't respond to pings or serial input from the mouse, and all disk activity froze as well. In addition, my root filesystem was trashed (a forced manual fsck on boot revealed some minor netscape cache files in lost+found, thank god it wasn't anything _important_!), AND it confused my systems's second CPU detection! A hard reset fixed this, though. Pretty wild!
Just warning folks.... J. Maynard Gelinas maynard@jmg.com
