Besides the Bonnie speedup, the previous posters also mentioned
a huge improve in interactive response.
I tested this and saw that the 'slowdowns' in 2.0 were occurring
on mmap()ed files. Therefore the mmap() readahead must have
been a factor in 2.1 speed...
