One problem here is co-ordination. Having two variant glibcs is worse still
It may be the Linux base standard that Bruce is putting together will be
the place to address this issue. One of its goals is to make things sane
across all distributions and environments for people writing application
software ("write once run anywhere so long as its linux" 8))
