*nod* I'm pretty familiar with Quantum drives. Quantum and IBM are the only SCSI drives I will use in any system. And, yeah, that's normal.
#And as I read this I think that giving it 10 secs for reset (not 5 as #default) also might help.. will play with it a little bit more.
Woah, uhm.. hold it right there.. if you're using Vikings, you should PROBABLY use a 15 to 20 second reset. Sometimes it takes a little longer for them to respond as ready. Plus, that way, the kernel SHOULD be able to clear a channel completely before proceeding to the next.
