Usually only one person logs into an X terminal, so "ps" and the like are
less useful than on most systems. The versions that dig through
/dev/kmem (available on sunsite), or none at all, might suffice.

I made a simple patch for this problem, against Linux 2.1.85. It's at
http://jpj.net/~trevor/linux/sigset-2.1.85.diff.
