I also had trouble with the new code pages, with 2.0.34pre10. I did "make
oldconfig" using the configuration from pre-2.0.31, which had
CONFIG_FAT_FS=y and CONFIG_VFAT_FS=y. The resulting kernel didn't have
VFAT support.
