Hi,
I think I´ve found some error in pre16, but I´m not a kernel-hacker so I dont know how to find out whats going on.
I have 2 netcards in my machine a tulip, and a ne2k both PCI. When using pre16 I cant seem to make tulip eth0 (I´ve tried a dusin lilo-confs), but no matter what I do the ne2k gets eth0. This has never been a problem using <=2.0.33. But it´s there both with RH51 std. kernel, and my clean patched 2.0.33->2.0.34pre16. My lilo.conf contains this line:
append = "ether=0,0x6400,eth0 ether=0,0x6600,eth1"
When using some kind of 2.0.34 I get this: (this is wrong)
ne2k-pci.c:v0.99L 2/7/98 D. Becker/P. Gortmaker http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/ne2k-pci.html ne2k-pci.c: PCI NE2000 clone 'RealTek RTL-8029' at I/O 0x6600, IRQ 9. eth0: PCI NE2000 found at 0x6600, IRQ 9, 00:C0:0C:B0:82:97. tulip.c:v0.88 4/7/98 becker@cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov eth1: Digital DS21140 Tulip at 0x6400, 00 00 e8 3f 76 d7, IRQ 5. eth1: EEPROM default media type Autosense. eth1: Index #0 - Media MII (#11) described by a 21140 MII PHY (1) block. eth1: MII transceiver found at MDIO address 1, config 1000 status 782d. eth1: Advertising 01e1 on PHY 1, previously advertising 01e1.
When using <=2.0.33 I get this (same lilo.conf) (this is ok)
tulip.c:v0.79 9/3/97 becker@cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov eth0: DEC DS21140 Tulip at 0x6400, 00 00 e8 3f 76 d7, IRQ 5.
