Briefly, something in drivers/sound/lowlevel failed to get merged with the rest of a sound driver patch. This triggered a bug in menuconfig, which triggered a bug in awk.
I have a patch in Linus's "pending" queue for the menuconfig bug. He has a reservation about it. I wrote him about it, but have gotten no response.
