To know if it is supported, you could at least give us a hint as to who made the controller and what kind of chips are on it...
Chances are, however, that the controller also doubles as a normal IDE controller, so you can at least use it (even with reduced performance) until the faster driver gets written.
Of course, I'm not an expert, just somebody wanting to give you a quick answer in 5 minutes :)
