Subject: Re: Bug/problem with Hawk PCI ENET PCnet -PCI II (AMD79C970A) ETH card in 2.0.33 kernel

Friends,

I am reporting bug/problem for the first time so I dont know whether I am
sending it at right place or not? I upgraded my Slackware 3.2 (2.0.29
kernel) with 2.0.33 kernel by compiling it. The kernel was configured for
PCI BIOS and PCnet PCI ethernet card. While booting the machine hanged
when Ifconfig command was issued by server. Latter on when ifconfig
coomand in rc.inet1 file was commented out the server did not hang but
when coomand was issued manually the machine again hanged. The driver used
at boot time by the card is "lanc32.c". I am able to use ISA ne2000 card
with IP aliased without any problem.
Any help please.

With Kind Regards.

Sincerely Yours
