This _is_ going to be a problem. The run-time allocator can't do larger allocs than 128kB, and even these are troublesome :(
You might want to look in the bigphysarea patch however, and there's a link to a page from an Italian guy (Alessando ??) on my homepage... (2:51AM so I won't check:-)
