I must went back to 0.46C too, because my router with 2x 3c905, 3c900 and 2x NE2000 switch both 3c905 from 100Mbp to 10Mbps on high load. My HUB and Switch only works on 100Mbps, so there is only one way - downgrade driver. Now everything goes well.
I must write, that in other dual Pentium PC I have 0.99 driver with one 3c905 and there is no problem yet (100Mbps too, same switch as above). May be David S. Miller is right with his opinion...
