Subject2.1.93 reboots may happen later than it appears
At least one other person on this list besides me has reported
that Linux 2.1.93 immediately resets the machine upon booting, before
printing any kernel messages. I have determined that printk() is
not working that early in the boot process under 2.1.93, so, for
example, the call to printk(linux_banner) probably is being
executed, and the reboot may be occuring later in the boot process
that one might otherwise think. I am emailing this now instead of
after having tracked down the place where these reboots are occurring
because it looks like I will have to step away from my workstation for
the next couple of hours, and I imagine others are tinkering with this
problem right now.
