I keep getting "a.b.c.d. sent an invalid ICMP error to a broadcast" messages on the console. This is from line 682 of net/ipv4/icmp.c (2.1.96):
printk("%s sent an invalid ICMP error to a broadcast.\n",
This needs a KERN_INFO or KERN_DEBUG inserted - for as the code says:
/* * Check the other end isnt violating RFC 1122. Some routers send * bogus responses to broadcast frames. If you see this message * first check your netmask matches at both ends, if it does then * get the other vendor to fix their kit. */ The message pops up so often that it makes the console unusable for normal purposes. I've only just found out about /proc/sys/kernel/printk BTW.
Cheers
Adrian
