I get the same thing here... (ncr810 not buslogic tho)

I note that eariler in the boot it finds my pci bios ok, and then
prints out a

Couldn't find device xx:yy in BIOS
...
for all my pci devices.

(not exact message, I was too sleepy to write it down)

then it goes on to the floppy controller and hangs.
I didn't have a chance to try 2.1.97...2.1.96 worked ok.
