Subject2.1.98: Works, Minor kmod carping

This kernel is working for me. I noticed the following and am posting it
for release-engineering purposes. I got the same with 2.1.97.

As a minor note, patch complained about a reverse-patch with the fix to
kmod.c to remove another stray \240 char, in patch-2.1.98.
