I got that once - I put it down to the fact that I'd forgotten to enable the
slram driver, and it was trying to use all 128Mb of RAM, even the uncached
half. I made the floppy driver a module while I was recompiling it though, so I
don't know if it works now.

2.1.97 was complaining thusly:
Apr 23 00:07:18 dwmw2 kernel: Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M, fd1 is 1.44M
Apr 23 00:07:18 dwmw2 kernel: DOR0=4
Apr 23 00:07:18 dwmw2 kernel: floppy interrupt on bizarre fdc 2
Apr 23 00:07:18 dwmw2 kernel: handler=00000000
Apr 23 00:07:18 dwmw2 kernel: FDC 0 is a post-1991 82077

Perhaps this could have something to do with it?
