I got the tools from the tools from the BTTV home page at http://www.thp.Uni-Koeln.DE/~rjkm/linux/bttv.html
The main one I got was the standard bttv distribution, though you need to be careful with that. It includes its own drivers and they are different to the ones in the kernel. I think Alan Cox has taken over control of these drivers as they are more compatible with the video4linux stuff.
I am also working on my own capturing program if you are interested, though it currently only captures single images (late last night).
