I have often wondered about this regarding GPL code. I have studied so much GPLed code I cant help but use it this way when I program non-free software. Does that violate the GPL? Does just the act of re-typing the code make it your own? Its not possible to forget a clever programming technique once you have seen it in some GPL source code so what can you do?
