Hello guys (or gals, or others, as the case may be <G>):
When compiling 2.1.96 in my "5 buck" configuration (i.e. very minimial, for bootstraping a 4mb 386sx), I get the following error: [...] make[2]: Entering directory `/hdd3/linux/arch/i386/math-emu' gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/hdd3/linux/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -fno-strength-reduce -m386 -DCPU=386 -DPARANOID -fno-builtin -DPARANOID -fno-builtin -c -o fpu_entry.o fpu_entry.c fpu_entry.c: In function `math_emulate': fpu_entry.c:193: arithmetic on pointer to an incomplete type fpu_entry.c:193: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type make[2]: *** [fpu_entry.o] Error 1 [...]
The line is "if ( SEG_D_SIZE(code_descriptor = LDT_DESCRIPTOR(FPU_CS)) )", which looks _way_ to in-depth for me to be messing with <G>. I'm guessing this is related to the changes for SMP FPU lazy-[read/write]s. BTW -- 2.1.96-pre1 didn't scan for partitions inside of extended partitions for me. I'll write another email if 2.1.96 proper does the same.
