SubjectPPP doesn't start up in >=2.0.30
hi!

i have the following problem: when ppp conenctions are enabled, the device
won't get ifconfiged. it's simply not there, even if ppp support is
enabled in the kernel.

the module WILL be loaded (if modulized), but the device won't show up.

this happens normally with an uptime of 20, and we have about 10 ppp
sessions per day.

after rebooting the machine everything's ok for a while. reloading the
module doens't fix this.

this behaviour was NOT present in 2.0.27, but is present in 2.0.30, 2.0.32
and so on...

( i can only test on prod.server because it needs so many ppp-connects to
test)

kind regards, http://stud2.tuwien.ac.at/~e9525748/
