SubjectMore ethertap flakiness
DateMon, 9 Mar 1998 03:12:22 -0500
Using 2.1.89 ethertap my bridging tunnel over TCP works except for large
transfers when the packets starting hitting 1200+ bytes or so. I decrease the
MTU on both tap0 interfaces, then re-transmit a large file and everything is
successful, I get 200kb/sec over the tunnel. (Yeah so its slow right now).
Setting MTU at 1000-1100 seems to work fine. Setting MTU at 1500 NEVER works
for large transfers, the interface just starts transmitting very slow, then I get
a total freeze on the "virtual ethernet". Anyone else having problems like this?

	Melvin
