When I use my mouse in Linux 2.0.33 with GPM or XWindows, while I move it around, I hear some constant buzzing noise which I do not hear under Windows95(on the same PC, diff. partition), which comes from the housing, maybe the speaker possibly or maybe the HD even (?). I don't know what it is, but when I kill GPM in Linux, it goes away even when I move the mouse afterwards. So it's only generated when Linux intercepts the mouse one way or the other. (while moving) It is VERY annoying to have to keep hearing this sound. My workstation is a Pentium 133, Gateway 2000 machine. It has no other problems, other than this one, and I don't know where in hell it came from with Linux .. I'm sure it's not Linux, maybe I am missing something, but what? Has anyone encountered this "funny buzzing" noise while moving their PS/2 Microsoft mouse that comes standard with the Gateways? I hear nothing in Win95, as I said... Linux only, in X or while GPM is running... Someone help me, my head's buzzing... Thank you Martin p.s. I have also used FreeBSD 2.2.2 with same mouse, and have never encountered that sound at all. - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-kernel" in the body of a message to majordomo@vger.rutgers.edu | ||||||||||||
