I'm forced to say 'ditto'.
Noticed it since I started messing w/ 2.1.xx kernels (around .88).
Soundcard is a builtin OPL3-SA1 (wss/ad1848 mode) with an mpu401 and opl3.
I also noticed when this card is configured as a module, it doesn't
actually become a "modularized" driver. The sound code remains in the
kernel, and I get a 'opl3sa.o' module that does absolutely nothing.
i.e., sound works before opl3sa.o is insmod'd, and after it's rmmod'd.. A
nice feature and all =) but defeats the purpose of making it as a module!
Strange.
