Hi Guys,

I've had no problems with X _running_ with any (read ALL) of the new
compilers under either 2.0.x or 2.1.x. I've also tried maxing out the
optimization with all of them.. makes the kernel slower but works.

I'm currently running XFree-3.3.1 and KDE compiled with egcs-2.91.13,
configured for glibc.

I haven't been able to determine if this is compiler related or not..
but _something_ very uncool is going on since beginning to upgrade.

As soon as I re-configured X for 'Thread-Safe-API' all libc5 X binaries
:(hundreds) stopped working. Looks like I won't be able to run Netscape
again until the source hits the web, as only freshly linked X binaries
run without segfaulting.

That strrchr reminds me of some recent assembler discussions. Think I'll
