SubjectPuzzeling 2.1 boot messages
I know that because there has been no code freeze yet that weird things
will happen occasionally, but on and off from about the start of 2.1 I
have been getting messages like this on boot:

- parport0: PC-style at 0x3bc, irq 7 [SPP,PS2]
This is a forced configuration on a SPP/EPP/ECP/ECP+EPP (doesn't matter
which mode) port, otherwise it won't find the irq, and it refuses to work.
- PIIX: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
For both IDE devices.
- PIIX: neither IDE port enabled (BIOS)
And both are enabled in BIOS, otherwise I wouldn't be able to boot.

These are from 2.1.89 (& 90-pre[123])

And the kernel won't auto-detect my NE2000 (clone) while it is set for irq
3, but auto-detects while on irq 12, there is no serial port on irq 3.

The difference between genius and stupidity
is that genius has it's limits.
