Subjectpppd-2.3.3 under 2.1.90

Hi there,

Once upon a time I had a Linux Debian 1.3.1 system with kernel 2.0.33 and
pppd 2.3.3 and everything was good and perfect.

Then I tried to install the kernel 2.1.90 (which has the pppd 2.3.3 kernel
files by default) in this system and, for my sadness, I checked that the
pppd was not working well anymore. By checking the 'ifconfig' output, it
was possible to see that there were TX overrun errors all over the place,
even though when I was using kernel 2.0.33 with the same configuration (I
was able to go back and make sure) there were no problems whatsoever.

Is it possible that I'll find some help from you masters of the Linux
development kernel ???

I hope so, because otherwise this story won't have a happy end ... :(

Regards and TIA,
Ivan Passos
