   The only compelling reason to use MMX is actually that you could in
   theory do copy-and-ipv4-csum with them. Peter Anvin had some code
   that would probably work, but it was complex enough that it was not
   clear whether it would really be a win..

Pointers to this?  I'm curious if it looks similar to the VIS version
we wrote for the Ultra port.
