Hi,
I have a Digital Prioris server with four (4) pentium 100's in it, and I've been having trouble getting SMP working for it. I tried compiling a 2.0.33 SMP-aware kernel but the processors deadlocked within 5 minutes. Someone suggested I'd try the development kernels--2.1.80 crashed within half an hour or so. Before you ask, I do have a AIC-7881 SCSI card, which believe was previously reported as a problem. I'm going to try 2.1.85 this week and see if it makes a difference. Is there anything I can do (like test new kernels) to help fix this problem? How can I get useful debugging information when the system crashes?
Thanks,
Geoff Oakham
