The "free" bit of the driver appears to be derived from GPL'd code owned
by the NSA. That makes the situation a little more complex. And indeed nothing
stops a third party providing an independantly written non GPL module using
the exported interfaces and providing sources to parts of their module
- Riscom do this with the N2. However since Sangoma provide GPL sources
I've never dug into details on it.
