Perhaps as a temporary kludge you could prefix all lines in the config help with a single character:
- blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah - blah blah blah blah blah. - - blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. - - blah blah blah blah.
Maybe '-' isn't a good choice, but another char may be.
