Hi there.
When mounting a cdrom for the first time I get a lovely error message. If I then immediately try to mount it again, it works successfully. My drive is an AOpen MTRP 16x. For example.
[root@shed /mnt]# mount cdrom hdc: media changed hdc: DMA disabled hdc: dma error: status=0x58 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest } hdc: ATAPI reset complete ATAPI device hdc: Error code: 0x70 Sense key: 0x06 - Unit attention Additional sense data: 0x29, 0x00 - Power on, reset or bus device reset occurred VFS: busy inodes on changed media.. VFS: brelse: Trying to free free buffer mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom, or too many mounted file systems [root@shed /mnt]# mount cdrom [root@shed /mnt]# mount /dev/hda2 on / type ext2 (rw) none on /proc type proc (rw) /dev/hda1 on /mnt/win type vfat (rw,umask=2) /dev/hdc on /mnt/cdrom type iso9660 (ro)
Everything after this works dandy. I assume this means my drive is incapable of dma? (Although dma works in win95 and with the MSDOS driver)
Another problem I have is with cdda2wav with the same drive. I am fairly sure this drive supports it, although I'm not overly sure. I get this in the logs.
hdc: packet command error: status=0x51 {DriveReady SeekComplete Error} hdc: packet command error: error=0x50 ATAPI device hdc: Error code: 0x70 Sense key: 0x05 - Illegal request Additional sense data: 0x64, 0x00 - (reserved error code) Failed packet command: be 04 00 00 00 de 00 00 08 f8 00 00
Regards,
Dave.
