You have to get the latest linux-nfs package and compile it. It will give you some userspace programs that will replace the standard nfsd and take advantage of the kernel extended functionnality. It comes with detailed explanations.
I believe the latest version is at least 0.4.22, but I do not remember where I found it. It compiles also on an alpha (with a little hacking).
