Subjectunexplained keyboard crashes

am I really the only one who has serious keyboad problems with 2.0.36 ?

I am running 2.0.36 with 8 VC's and X. sometimes, when I switch to or from X
(doesn't matter) -- the system freezes, that is, the keyboard stops working.

all other processes are still availabe, telnetting works, shutdowns etc all
fine. the host keyboard doesn't react anymore, no numlock leds etc.

resetting the keyboard (unplug/reconnect) doesn't work either -- the leds
flash once, as usual.

there is no way to resurrect the keyboard .... anyone an idea where to look
at ?
