The article is Compaq praising themselfes and NT (standards based ...) about the world record for sorting 1TB of data. Given that afaik still no exact description of the rules by which the benchmark results were obtained is available this benchmark doesn't express very much. One of the reasons why thoughts about scattering the record on the CLOWN cluster of Linux machine didn't become reality.
